Hump Day Report: I’m Dreaming of a Pink Ruger

ALOHA, ALL!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.  Today it’s back to reality.  Let’s talk about guns.  (Yes, I want a pink one).

My new hero.  Suzanna Gratia-Hupp may not be a name you’ve heard (at least  not in recent memory).  Here she is testifying at the original Capitol Hill hearings in the Brady Bill in the early 1990s:

Dr. Gratia-Hupp is brilliant!  The CNN reporter is…well..an airhead (cue Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” again.  An all-time favorite of mine):  

Enough hypocrisy!  Armed Guards Good for David Gregory’s Kids’ School, Not For the Rest of Us  “Gregory’s kids, however, go to school at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., a school that is not only looking to hire a new police officer, but which also has 11 security personnel already on staff, some of whom are police officers.”  Sidwell Friends is also where Obama’s kids attend school.

Don’t confuse us with the facts.  Guns in Schools Can Save Lives  “With just one exception, every public mass shooting in the USA since at least 1950 has taken place where citizens are banned from carrying guns. Despite strict gun regulations, Europe has had three of the worst six school shootings.”  (Note:  I met Dr. John Lott a couple of years ago.  Brilliant guy!)

Anyone remember this?  Flashback:  Clinton Requests $60 Million to Put Cops in Schools  “Clinton also unveiled the $60-million fifth round of funding for “COPS in School,” a Justice Department program that helps pay the costs of placing police officers in schools to help make them safer for students and teachers. The money will be used to provide 452 officers in schools in more than 220 communities. “Already, it has placed 2,200 officers in more than 1,000 communities across our nation, where they are heightening school safety as well as coaching sports and acting as mentors and mediators for kids in need,” Clinton said.”  But it’s OK if Bubba wanted to do it….after all, he was the first Black President!

And the purpose of this is?  Newspaper Publishes Names, Addresses of Legal Gun Owners   LOL!  This will backfire (pun intended).  Those who don’t have guns will now want to buy them…aren’t they more at risk now?

Obama to Return to Washington as Fiscal Cliff Looms  “Obama and his family had also left town for Hawaii and what would normally be an extended vacation. But this year, Obama will return early for the fiscal talks.”  No word of the family leaving with him. Wanna bet they stay and run up their tab?  Wanna bet Barry comes back for a New Year celebration?  Stay tuned.

CPAC will have unwelcome visitors.  Unions to Occupy CPAC  “Later this week, thousands of conservative men and women from all over the United States will gather in Washington, D.C. for the 39th annual Conservative Political Action Conference.”  Ah yes…they are such a corrupt group!  Occupy D.C. to Protest ‘Dastardly Politicians’ at Conservative Gathering in Washington  “CPAC will parade and attempt to perpetuate the radical right wing’s imperialist ideologies with keynote speakers, movies and banquets dedicated to pursuing its racist, sexist, patriarchal and exploitative agenda,” Occupy D.C. said.

Is this part of his “fairness” campaign and “spreading the wealth”?  Obama Pulls Combat Pay For Deployed U.S. Troops – Common American Journal  “The rules for Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger Pay have changed. Service members will now receive imminent danger pay only for days they actually spend in hazardous areas. This change went in effect on February 1, 2012.”  (Shaka to Rose Marie)

On the other hand, Super PACS are OK with Barry.  Super PAC Money Isn’t So Bad, Obama Decides, Reversing Tough Stance On Campaign Finance – Investors.com  “Of course, Obama is merely an emblem of the Democrats’ wider hypocrisy on free speech. Democrats feign disgust at money in politics only when it lets conservative candidates get their message out.”

But wait!  Barry’s giving these guys their money back.  Lawyers, guns and (Obama’s) money « Hot Air  “Obama campaign returns $200,000 donation from fugitive’s family. Brothers of Pepe Cardona, who fled drug and fraud charges in the US in 1994, began raising money for Obama last year.”  So are they considered “Bad-To-The-Bone Bundlers?”

Hmm….like I said before, why did you vote for him in the first place?????  Bill Donohue Says Contraceptive Mandate Will Be Fought in Court, Maybe in Streets  “Never before, unprecedented in American history, for the federal government to line up against the Roman Catholic Church,” said Donohue. “This is going to be fought out with lawsuits, with court decisions, and, dare I say it, maybe even in the streets.”  And this:  Faiths Opppose to Obamacare’s Attack on Religious Liberty  “It is a rare moment indeed when faith denominations of all stripes unite together in common cause, and it is rarer still when that cause is a political one, with a sole piece of legislation as its principal target.”
