ALOHA, ALL!! On Wednesday, the ObamaCare Tax comes up for a repeal vote in the House. Of course, it will be a symbolic vote since it will likely carry in the GOP-controlled House, but fail in the Dem-controlled Senate (that is, if Prince Harry Reid even decides to even put it forward.) But the vote is important: it puts Representatives on record regarding their support of the largest tax increase in American history. Here’s one of the best analyses I’ve seen on how the GOP should effectively use the ObamaCare Tax as a campaign issue: The Achilles Heel of Obamacare and Obama – Pat Caddell “Let Democrats vote in favor of more IRS power in 2012, now that everyone knows that the beating heart of Obamacare is ObamaTax. So one more time: Republicans should seize on the ObamaTax issue–and the entire package of taxes–to remind the voters that the Democrats misled the public in 2010, and, indeed, they are misleading the public still. Taxes are the anvil on which to hammer the Democrats. And dishonesty is that hammer. It’s the tax issue that resonates, twinned inevitably, of course, with the trust issue.” And: If Obamacare Isn’t Repealed, How Will It Affect You?

Another important vote in the House this week. House GOP Looks To speed US Mining of Rare-Earth Minerals “The House is poised to pass legislation (HR 4402) aimed at streamlining the approval process for permits to mine for rare-earth minerals, a bill that responds to increased demand for rare earths around the world, as well as China’s export restraints for these minerals.”
Beanbags. Yeah, that should work. Outrage: Eric Holder Disarmed Brian Terry While Arming His Killers (Shaka to Carl for the link) “For the first time, federal officials revealed Monday that murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and an elite squad of federal agents first fired bean bags — not bullets — at a heavily armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2011.”
Just when you thought she couldn’t look any more ridiculous.….Debbie Dimwit raises/lowers the bar! First, on why she hasn’t released her tax returns even thought she keeps pushing Romney to release more than he has.
Next, she says she’s pretty “happy” with how we’re doing on the jobs front. Ah Debbie……time to retire.
Sound like a broken record? It turns out the Obama administration has been telling us to “not read too much into one monthly jobs report” more than once. Like about 41 times (shaka to Carl, again): Broken Record, Broken Promises “But after 41 straight months of unemployment over 8%, you don’t have to read between the lines to see the truth. President Obama’s policies have failed to get America working again.” #obamaisntworking
His kind of town….Chicago is. In Obama’s Chicago, A Trayvon Martin Every Day “When more Americans are killed in the president’s hometown than in Afghanistan, even the media take notice. When will the president notice the carnage in the city run by his former chief of staff?”
OBAMA: My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say that I’m taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we’re going to have an individual mandate or not, but …
STEPHANOPOULOS: But you reject that it’s a tax increase?
OBAMA: I absolutely reject that notion.

ALOHA, ALL!! I didn’t agree with George Bush on everything. In fact, he infuriated me a few times. But I never doubted his sincerity, love of country and our military, and true empathy for others. On Wednesday – Independence Day – most of us were watching (or even marching in) parades, going to cook-outs and enjoying fireworks shows. Check out what George and Laura Bush were doing: Zambia – July 4, 2012 The Bushes visited the Kasisi Children’s Home, in Lusaka, Zambia. Kasisi is home to approximately 230 orphaned children between infant to university age range. This was part of a week-long trip to Zambia and Botswana, Africa, to promote the Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon initiative of the George W Bush Presidential Center. OMG…looks like Kanye West lied when he said this (not only that, he’s basically incoherent and Mike Myers should have slapped him):
Happy Birthday, President Bush!! You are a class act and true patriot!!
Meanwhile, Preezy has started his marvelous Midwest tour (on his Canadian-made bus) and stopped in Ohio on Thursday. Gotta love this photo of Barry at Ziggy’s pub in Amherst!
Apparently when Barry walked in the door of the pub, Fox News was on. He told them they should turn it off. Way to go! That’s a great way to make friends in rural Ohio. Maybe next time you should say “How about those Wolverines?”

Romney Campaign, RNC, Raise Over $100 Million in June “Dems are also countering the Romney fundraising boon by raffling off a cup of coffee with Joe Biden and lunch with Debbie Downer.” LOL!!!!
Team Obama Celebrates July 4 With Paris Fundraiser “The Obama campaign will host events in Geneva, Switzerland in August as part of their “European outreach effort.” George Clooney will headline a fundraiser there, with 150 tickets going for $20,000 per piece. There’s even more to the bargain: if you go as a couple, the second ticket is half-off!”
White House: “Don’t Read Too Much Into Unemployment Numbers” “If the size of the U.S. labor force as a share of the total population was the same as it was when Barack Obama took office—65.7% then vs. 63.8% today—the U-3 unemployment rate would be 10.9%. Even if you take into account that the LFP should be declining as America ages, the unemployment rate would be 10.5%.”
31% Give Obama Positive Marks on Handling the Economy “A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows just 31% of Likely Voters believe President Obama is doing a good or excellent job handling economic issues, including 12% who say he is doing an excellent job.” Gotta wonder who those 12% are!
Teacher’s Union is Hemorrhaging Members “The National Education Association (NEA) has lost more than 100,000 members since 2010. By 2014, union projections show, it could lose a cumulative total of about 308,000 full-time teachers and other workers, a 16% drop from 2010. Lost dues will shrink NEA’s budget an estimated $65 million, or 18%.” HOORAY!!!!!
Final Thought: “America is a nation with a mission – and that mission comes from our most basic beliefs. We have no desire to dominate, no ambitions of empire. Our aim is a democratic peace – a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman.” George W. Bush
