The CBO came out today with some devastating information about ObamaCare – Actually, ObamaCare Is Kinda LIke A Tax and It’s Going to Result in 2 Million Fewer Workers by 2017 “An almost two percent reduction to the numbers of hours worked purely because of the law’s effects is kind of a big deal, and you can bet that this is not going to be welcome news to the handful of panicking Senate Democrats trying to stave off awkward questions about their “yea” votes for ObamaCare by focusing on their economically populist messaging strategy.”  Yep.

Barry’s Minions Have Quickly Responded: White House Pushes Back on CBO Report   “Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors Jason Furman told reporters that the law would not reduce the hours being offered by employers. Instead, Furman said, ObamaCare allowed greater “choice” — for workers to scale back their hours to spend more time with their children, or to leave their jobs to launch a small business or startup. “This is Barry’s not businesses cutting back on jobs. This is people having new choices,” Furman said.”  ARE YOU FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME????  You gotta see this guy – and he’s Obama’s top economic advisor????  HOLY TOLEDO!

Barry and the wife & kids are going to Africa and we’re paying.  How nice for them.  The Obama Family Trip to Africa to Cost $60 to $100 Million  “Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bullet-proof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the first family will stay. Fighter jets will fly in shifts giving 24-hour coverage over the president’s airspace so they can intervene quickly if an errant plane gets too close.”  Frankly, I think it’s worth it provided they stay there.

Think what you will about Charles DeGalle–politically, I don’t agree with most of his legacy.  But, whatever decisions he made, I don’t doubt that he did what he honestly thought was best for France at the time.  I recently read an interesting book: “The Apprentice” by Jacques Pepin.  Pepin, in his younger days was the personal chef for de Gaulle.  A paragraph in the book, p124, made me compare that time with our current times.

“The general also was extremely honest–to the point of punctiliousness–in dealing with the budget allocated to the kitchen.  My expenses were spelled out in a ledger which I presented twice a month twice a month to a member of the cabinet to obtain money to pay my suppliers.  However, under the General’s orders, I had to keep a special account for the Sunday family meal because the expenses incurred for these were paid for from his personal fund.  Even though he was not wealthy, he felt that the Sunday meal was his own responsibility. For de Gaulle, it was a question of ethics.”

I couldn’t help but think of the stark contrast between that, and Obama’s multi million dollar vacations and meals for himself, his wife, their daughters, the daughters’ friends, the family dog, an entourage of 300, etc, etc.  More like Louis XVI, than president of the US.
