New Benghazi Subpoenas Issued

And This:  US Issues Travel Alert, Will Close Embassies Due to Al Qaeda Threat

A State Department travel alert Friday said al Qaeda may launch attacks in the Middle East, North Africa and beyond, as the United States is closing 21 embassies and consulates Sunday as a precaution.

“Current information suggests that al Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks both in the region and beyond, and that they may focus efforts to conduct attacks in the period between now and the end of August,” said the alert, which covers the entire month.

It warned that “terrorists may elect to use a variety of means and weapons and target both official and private interests.”

Officials said the time frame comes with the approaching end of Ramadan and the first anniversary of the terror attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

You know, Gilia, I’m tired of this crap. It’s time to nail the flag to the flagpole and send more marines to the embassies, while telling the host countries that if their pretty red coats get mussed, the Apaches are about an hour out, and the bombers will follow, and then damned well do it. Bet once would be enough.

And since when do we close embassies, what the devil our our citizens supposed to do- go to the British embassy?

Issa? Good on him, you go, Sir!

NEO – they know they can get away with slapping us in the face now. We have a pResident who is a laughing stock around the world. He has no stature among the leaders of other nations much less our enemies/terrorists. Putin gives Snowden asylum and Barry can do NOTHING. Our country is powerless because of the feckless Obama.

      • NEO says :

And that, Gilia, was the point I was making, backwards. I wasn’t many years ago when a whisper in Washington made the whole world tremble, now they laugh openly.

And the worst part is that other people, like the Copts in Egypt, pay the price far more than we do, for our feckless leadership.

Although to be honest, with Snowden I’m of two minds.

      • giliar says :

Agreed NEO!! With the current “leadership” we have who would want to be an ally of ours? We treat our enemies much better. And if one decides to support us we turn our backs on them when they need us. It’s truly frightening right now. And I know how you feel about Snowden….

      • NEO says :

I thought you would, and I’m not very happy that I feel that way. Manning I have no sympathy whatsoever but Snowden, if he at least tries to shut up, I’m half convinces he really thinks he is a whistleblower.

God help our allies, cause we’re unlikely to.

These things have to be related. CIA spills about 35 plus operatives on the ground, then the subpoenas, then the State Department warnings and Benghazi fades into the background? Who knows….

    • giliar says :

I don’t think it will fade, Patriot. Now it’s both Jake Tapper and Sharyl Atkisson who are basing their reputations & careers on this. In a way, this whole sordid mess reminds me of the excellent Netflix show “House of Cards.” A different story, but same old same old DC games and cynicism.

      • americanpatriotrealitycheck says :

Well… perhaps “fade” was an ill-chosen phrase. Perhaps “pushed backward” into the deep recesses of the mind.

Think about this for a moment. Benghazi happened. It was a State Department function (a consulate).

Now there is a push to WARN the public about travel, and to actually CLOSE embassies.

Why? To obfuscate matters. After all, if Obama has a sudden “attack” on an embassy and no one is home, he just looked good because he had the forethought to close the place down BEFORE the attack, right?

This is being planned, it’s being made OBVIOUS so the public won’t miss the fireworks to make him look great.

Patriot, NOTHING would surprise me when it comes to this administration. They are as underhanded and opaque as they come.

      • americanpatriotrealitycheck says :

        Underhanded and Opaque.

Wasn’t this supposed to be the “most transparent administration in history” and everything “above board”?

        LOL

      • giliar says :

        LOL for sure!

      • americanpatriotrealitycheck says :

        Nothing has surprised me.

It’s pretty sad when you can predict most if not all the moves the administration will do, based on their past performance. Then again, sometimes I’m wildly off, but mostly I’m right.
