Hump Day Report: Fallout Friday

Yes….Elections Have Consequences

ALOHA, ALL!!  It’s been an interesting 24 hours.  I know people are still angry about the SCOTUS ruling yesterday.  I think at this point, we’re all Obamacare’d out but just a few more observations:

Say, Doesn’t The Constitution Require Tax Bills To Originate In The House?  “The silver lining here procedurally is that, now that the mandate’s officially a “tax,” it falls squarely within the parameters of budgetary matters than can be dealt with in the Senate via reconciliation. That means the GOP will only need 51 votes to get rid of it, not 60.”  (See:  Hump Day Report:  John Roberts Is Brilliant)

CJ John Roberts Pulls Off One of the Greatest Constitutional Finesses of All Time  “ObamaCare is now essentially upheld. There’s only one way it can be overturned. The same way it was passed — elect a new president and a new Congress. That’s undoubtedly what Roberts is saying: Your job, not mine. I won’t make it easy for you.”  (See:  Hump Day Report:  John Roberts Is Brilliant)

Romney Raises Over $100,000 In Less Than An Hour After SCOTUS Ruling  “Republican analysts have long assumed that a Supreme Court ruling that upholds ObamaCare would be bad news overall for Barack Obama. We’ll see, but so far, it’s good news for Mitt Romney.”  Also:  Romney Campaign Raises $1 Million In Three Hours  UPDATE:  Just heard on Neil Cavuto’s show that the total is now $4.6 million in 24 hours.  (See:  Hump Day Report:  John Roberts Is Brilliant)

And where was Debbie (Dimwit) Wasserman Schultz on this?  Dem’s Tweet Spikes The Ball on Healthcare, Draws Ire  In case you missed it, here’s the tweet.  Classy.  Patrick Gaspard is the Executive Director of the DNC.  Think he’ll lose his job?  Riiiiiiiight!

Then again, what should you expect when the Preezy himself tweets this?  Class personified.  Think he’ll lose his job?  You better believe it!

Yet Another Reason OMG – Obama Must Go!  Contemptible Eric Holder.  House Holds Holder In Contempt Over Fast and Furious   “The House voted 255-67 to hold Mr. Holder in criminal contempt in a vote that amounted to a political spanking for the attorney general and President Obama, underscored by the 17 Democrats who joined Republicans. Most Democrats walked out of the vote in a protest led by the Congressional Black Caucus.”  BEST LINE OF THE DAY FROM GREG GUTFELD:  “It would have been hilarious if Allen West had locked the door behind them.”

Anyhow, it’s Friday – Time for NewsBusted!!

Final Thought:  “A wise frugal government shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.  This is the sum of good government.” Thomas Jefferson – First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801

From Instapundit (linked at): ANDREW MCCARTHY: Fast And Furious Noose Tightens Around Justice Department. “Explosive reports are now surfacing that Justice Department officials clearly knew about the Fast and Furious ‘gunwalking’ tactic, in which the federal government — actually, a task force comprised of Justice Department agencies and led by ATF, a Justice Department agency — allowed upwards of 1400 illegally purchased firearms to be routed to violent Mexican drug gangs. This recklessness led, quite foreseeably, to the murder of at least one federal agent, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and probably a second, Homeland Security Agent Jaime Zapata. There are reportedly also scores of victims in Mexico.”

And this I’ve been wondering about myself: “[Yes, that’s right: All of these remarkable revelations happened yesterday, but we are just waking up to them now because, as observed here at Ordered Liberty yesterday, Republican leadership chose to go forward with yesterday’s historic contempt finding — the first ever against a sitting cabinet member — on the day of the Obamacare ruling, when it was sure to get close to zero attention. Nice work, guys.]

Why the same day??????? The Holder contempt vote should have happened next week to take the air out of the Obamacare vote. Yes….I realize that Congress didn’t know in advance what the SCOTUS decision would be but either way, they had to know it would dominate the news. Then again, they all had to leave for their holiday vacations today. Must be nice.

Obama instructs 16,000 incoming IRS agents to use Rock, Paper Scissor Rule in deciding to tax or penalize each family under ObamaCare. Hint: The result is rigged.
