Hump Day Report: Lucky We Live USA

"A Republic, ma'am, if you can keep it."

ALOHA, ALL!!  There’s a common declaration here in the 50th state:  “Lucky we live Hawaii.”  (Yes, it’s bad grammar, but that’s another story.)  Sure it’s beautiful here, with the tropical scenery, great beaches and near perfect weather.  But I sometimes wonder what this paradise would be like if it had not become the 50th state….I think not such a lucky place to live.  We should be thankful for so much – family, friends, health.  But also high on that list of things to be grateful for is the fact that we live in the United States of America.  The founders of our country were not only brave men who risked their lives to start The American Dream, they were highly intelligent.  They knew that the only form of government that would last is a Republic.  So as we celebrate Thanksgiving and count our many blessings, be thankful we live in a place where it’s still possible to experience life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Here’s a video explaining why.  You may want to share this with those who celebrate Thanksgiving with you.:

Something to digest along with the pumpkin pie.  Thanksgiving Quiz – PatriotPost.US  “The Thanksgiving tradition introduced by European explorers and settlers in the “New World,” was a time set aside specifically for the purpose of giving thanks to our Creator for His manifold blessings. The earliest record of a thanksgiving in America is 1541 by Coronado and 1,500 of his men at Palo Duro Canyon in what is now Texas. French Protestant colonists in St. Augustine, Florida held a thanksgiving service in 1564. In 1607, the Jamestown settlers held thanksgiving at Cape Henry, Virginia, and there are many more records of such hallowed observances.”

Final Thought:  “The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.” H.U. Westermayer

Happy Thanksgiving to all HDR readers!  And on this Thanksgiving, remember and be thankful for all those who died – and continue to fight –  defending our freedoms!!!!!
