HDR 177: Barack Obama’s Day Off
ALOHA, ALL!! Remember the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”? Matthew Broderick played a high school kid in affluent Chicago (hmmmm…) who decided to play hooky with his best friend and girlfriend. Needless to say, they got in a lot of trouble. Interesting thing about Ferris – he was very popular and a cool dude who never got caught doing anything wrong (hmmmm…) I’m seeing a lot of parallels in this 1986 movie and our own uber-popular, cool dude in the White House. Just yesterday, Barry proclaimed that “enough is enough” and demanded that there needs to be a deal on the debt limit in 36 hours. So hows does he plan to participate? By holding a press conference Friday morning, then taking the day off from negotiations ‘Enough Is Enough,’ Obama Says; It’s Like Dealing With Jello, Boehner Says | CNSnews.com and No debt talks Friday – UPI.com He’s taking his toys and going away since he can’t play nice with others (thanks to Cindy for the picture!) In fact, here’s his “schedz” for today (I’m sure there’s a 2:30 tee time that somehow didn’t make his official agenda):
11:00 am || Holds a press conference; Briefing Room
12:29 pm || Calls the crews of the Space Shuttle Atlantis and the International Space Station
1:30 pm || Meets with Ruby Bridges and representatives of the Norman Rockwell Museum and views Rockwell’s The Problem We All Live With
Barack “Ferris” 0bama – Can’t you just picture Ben Stein saying “Barry…..Barry….Anyone?…Anyone?” So will Barry avoid blame on the debt limit negotiations by playing his usual, cool dude self? (Except the little hissy fit he had with Eric Cantor the other day.) We’ll see. In the meantime, enjoy this:

The world ends on August 3!!!!!! At least that’s what 0bama and his minions would have you believe if the debt ceiling isn’t raised. But guess what he’ll be doing? GOP Debt Ceiling Ace in the Hole: Obama’s Birthday Bash | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier “The president is planning an extravagant fundraising bash Aug. 3 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, including a birthday concert teeming with celebrities and – for couples contributing $35,800 – a private dinner with the president. All this just one day after the government is scheduled to run out of cash!” Barry turns 50 on August 4. Let him eat cake.
IPAB (aka “Death Panels”) discussion coming up. ObamaCare’s Rationing Board Spells Doom for Medicare – Page 1 – Hadley Heath – Townhall Conservative “This week, Congressional leaders will hold a hearing on the IPAB: the Independent Payment Advisory Board, which could be a first step to the board’s repeal This board, created by the Affordable Care Act (“ObamaCare”), is one of the lesser-understood provisions in the 2000-page law, but it is a critical aspect, exemplifying how ObamaCare would control Medicare costs. If the public learns more about IPAB, the movement to fully repeal ObamaCare will gain important momentum.”
How’s that “Hope & Change” working out for ya? Youth Hardest Hit in Obama Economy “Whom has the recession hurt the most? There is no easy answer to that question—job opportunities have diminished for every ethnic and demographic group. But one of the worst hit groups has attracted little media attention: the youth. Younger Americans overwhelmingly voted for Obama in 2008, but the Obama economy has not treated them well.”
Looks like they don’t let a good crisis got to waste, either. Hezbollah Sets Up Shop in Mexico | FrontPage Magazine “A Tucson Police Department memo from September 2010 has been leaked onto the Internet by hackers, and it warns that Hezbollah has set up shop in Mexico. The terrorist group has linked up with the Mexican drug lords, and is even said to have a large arms stockpile in the country.”
WOW!!! Ed Koch Urges New Yorkers to Replace Weiner with Pro-Israel GOP Candidate | Breaking news and opinion on The Blaze “In defiance of the Obama administration’s Israel policy, long-time Democrat and former New York mayor Ed Koch is urging voters in Queens and Brooklyn to “make history” by replacing disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner with a pro-Israel Republican candidate. According to Koch, he wants to “put a shot across Obama’s bow.”
Light bulb ban lives. The 10 Republicans who voted against the light bulb repeal – Common American Journal “…this little bill is the best example of the sort of nanny statism that freedom-loving Americans are incensed by. The repeal should have easily been passed but the GOP could not muster the votes to do it and, worse, didn’t even hold their own caucus in line.” We don’t like it: 67% Oppose Upcoming ‘Ban’ on Traditional Light Bulbs – Rasmussen Reports™
