HDR 152: The Perqs of Being a FOP (Friend of Pelosi)

Nancy Pelosi

"I bestow upon you my many blessings."

ALOHA, ALL!!  Looks like Nancy Nitwit is at it again.  Remember how she said they needed to pass 0bamacare so everyone could see what’s in it?  Well, well, well….seems like many of her wealthy San Francisco friends aren’t too happy with Pelosi’s crowning achievement.  In fact, nightclubs, restaurants, spas and hotels in Pelosi’s district account for 20% of the new 0bamacare waivers:   Health Care Law | San Francisco | Nancy Pelosi | The Daily Caller Funny thing – I noticed Cafe Mason is on that list.  I’ve eaten there and if they can get a waiver then the entire country deserves one.  FOP, indeed!  (Thanks to Garry for the link.)

More Nancy.   PolitiFact | Nancy Pelosi says more jobs created in Obama’s first year than eight years of George W. Bush  The poor dear…maybe she hit herself in the head with that big gavel she likes to carry around.

0bama created jobs, alright – in government.  Obama Created or Saved 450,000 Government Jobs, Lost 1,000,000 Private Sector Jobs With Stimulus – Common American Journal  Here’s a great analysis from THE Ohio State University about how The American Recovery and Investment Act (aka The Stimulus) created/saved 450,000 government sector jobs while destroying 1 million private sector jobs.  http://web.econ.ohio-state.edu/dupor/arra10_may11.pdf  How’s that for hope & change??  (Thanks to my Facebook friend Michael for the link.)

On the healthcare front:    Medicare’s Deteriorating Financial Condition | The Foundry  “…about 90 percent of the growth of Medicare and Social Security is going to occur by 2035. The baby boom generation, to be supported by a relatively smaller workforce, will drive costs to new levels.”  Be sure to read this article and how the “Medicare Funding Warning” has now been issued two years in a row.  The President is required to develop a proposal to Congress to deal with the problem.  The likelihood of that happening is about as great as Pelosi gaining a conscience.

“Blue Light Special” takes on a whole new meaning.   Are You Ready to Pay $50 for a 100-Watt Bulb? | The Blaze  “To encourage energy efficiency, Congress passed a law in 2007 mandating that bulbs producing 100 watts worth of light meet certain efficiency goals, starting in 2012. Conventional light bulbs don’t meet those goals, so the law will prohibit making or importing them. The same rule will start apply to remaining bulbs 40 watts and above in 2014. Since January, California has already banned stores from restocking 100-watt incandescent bulbs.”  The world will be a much sadder place without all those Easy Bake Ovens.  Or maybe they can be powered by windmills in the future:

If you build it, they will run…away from the border.  Report: Arizona Aims to Build Its Own Border Fence | CNSnews.com  “A new law that goes into effect July 20 allows the state to build the fence itself, as long as it can raise enough private donations and get permission to build on federal, Indian, and privately owned land along the border.”

From the “I’ll Believe It When I See It” file:  Obama to open Alaska petroleum reserve to new drilling – Common American Journal  We must be getting close to an election.

Depends on what your definition of transparency is.  VIDEO: No Transparency on Obama’s Political Donations Executive Order | The Foundry  Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC): “Does it strike you at all as being ironic to invoke confidentiality and not answering questions when we’re having a hearing about transparency?”  White House aide Daniel Gordon: “It does not, sir. I think there are discussions, even about transparency and developing rules about transparency that we need to be able to have quietly and behind closed doors.”  You can’t make this stuff up!!!!!

Final Thought:  “No man can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true.” – Hawthorne

LOL, Lee! In fact, I know many friends of mine in college had them for that very reason 😉

Did you ever wonder if very many bachelors bought Easy Bake ovens for themselves because they were cheap and simple?
