HDR 113: MLK Jr, Tucson Shootings & Obamacare

ALOHA, ALL! We honored a great man on Monday.  And while he wasn’t perfect, he started a movement that brought justice to millions of Americans who were discriminated against simply because of the color of their skin.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr would be proud of the fact that we elected a black President, but I don’t think he’d be proud of obama’s policies.  MLK was a conservative.  He was a Republican.  But the liberals and Democrats sure have a strange recollection of what MLK stood for (hey Dems – remember the KKK and how it was founded by southern Democrats???)  No one is tarnishing MLK’s memory and using his name in vain more than the Dems. Talk about revisionist history….Excuse me, Eric Holder, but Dr. Martin Luther King would laugh out loud at this ridiculous speech of yours:  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Helped ‘Plant the Seeds’ for ‘Environmental Justice Movement,’ Says Attorney General Holder What the heck is “environmental justice”?  The ultimate agenda of control.  Shame on you, Holder – you’re a sham!

Here’s what the man was truly about: “…We have learned in the course of our freedom struggle, that the needs of twenty million negroes are not truly separable from the needs of the two hundred million whites and negroes, all of whom would benefit from a Colorblind land of plenty…”  Beautiful quote from MLK!  Open Thread: Martin Luther King Jr. – Perspective – PatriotPost.US Read this and see why Dr. King once called 0bama’s hometown of Chicago “This is the most tragic picture of man’s inhumanity to man. I’ve been to Mississippi and Alabama and I can tell you that the hatred and hostility in Chicago are really deeper than in Alabama and Mississippi.”  Oh, but I’m sure it’s MUCH better now.

AND HERE ARE THE NEXT BLACK LEADERS! Forget Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton & the other blowhards – remember Allen West & Herman Cain:

Rep Giffords continues to improve, thank God. Of course, the left is still bent on adding new gun control laws, based on the act of this one idiot.  The next time you get into a discussion with a lefty about gun control, have these facts ready:  FoxNews.com – The Arizona Shootings, Gun Violence Research and the Facts vs. The New York Times.

And you’ve heard all about the violent Tea Party people but somehow this guy isn’t getting much attention….except on Fox News:   “You’re Dead”: Tucson Survivor Eric Fuller Tells Tea Partier Trent Humphries On ABC This Week Interesting video – even ABC hasn’t focused on this guy and they shot the video!!!  Oh yeah – he’s a lefty loon.

You GO, Girl!!!! Sarah Palin saidin her first interview after the shootings that she is “not going to shut up.” Doesn’t the left get it?  The more they go after her, the stronger she gets 🙂  This is for you, Sarah – and for ALL of us who refuse to shut up:

The repeal vote on 0bamacare looms….it’s scheduled for Wednesday.  In the house, it’s a good bet the repeal will pass.  But don’ be surprised if it also passes the Senate.  Many of those who initially approved it are up for election next year and may want to save their hides:   Repealing Obamacare, and the Senate – Mike Needham – Townhall Conservative Adding fuel to the fire, 26 states have now introduced their own amendments to make 0bamacare DOA:  More Than Half of All States Now Suing to Stop Obamacare | The Foundry: Conservative Policy News And is it any wonder?  Check out all tax hikes obamacare will bring us:  Comprehensive List of Tax Hikes in Obamacare (Thanks to Jackie for the link).

Final Thought:  “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” –Martin Luther King Jr.

  1. David says :

Martin Luther King would scream at the top of his lungs if he knew what some liberal pundits were doing under the cloak of his legacy. He also would be beaming with pride at the clear and potent tone of those black Americans who embrace America as he saw it.

I grew up in the segregated South as a white kid. I spent 4 years in high school when ‘desegregation’ was enacted. Never, at any time in my life, have I seen as many people, both black and white, paying as much time and attention to politics. Race as a political issue is dying, just as MLK hoped it would. Just as every kid in my high school hoped it would 40 years ago.

Prejudice should be aimed at the liar and the cheat, not a dermal pigment.

  2. Lee says :

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.”–Martin Luther King, Jr. (http://quotations.about.com/od/stillmorefamouspeople/a/martinluther1.htm)

Yes, quite the “conservative” and “Republican.”

As I said, he wasn’t perfect. Think of the times (Vietnam) when this quote was said and under what circumstances. The US was truly mired in a war that we refused to win (thanks to the hapless President Lyndon Johnson). And yes, King was a pacifist. So it’s not surprising that he would make such a comparison.
