Hump Day Report: Obama’s Medicare Trick

ALOHA, ALL!!  Remember the Democrat’s ads showing Paul Ryan throwing Granny over a cliff?  The implication was that Ryan and Republicans don’t care about old people or those who are vulnerable.  They’d rather throw them off a cliff than promote policies that “help” them.  They want to “end” Medicare so that seniors won’t have the care they have now.  In contrast, the Democrats claim they are all sweetness and light and only have the best interests of the elderly in mind.  Bull feathers.  Check out Obama’s latest slight-of-hand trick to get the senior vote in November:  Obama’s $8.3 Billion Re-Election Slush Fund   ”Not wanting to confront angry voters who’ve seen their health care choice (Medicare Advantage) eliminated by ObamaCare, the administration apparently decided instead to paper over these spending cuts, pumping $8.3 billion back into the program through “bonuses” to Medicare Advantage plans.”  Got that?  Seniors were going to realize just weeks before the election that they didn’t have the option of Medicare Advantage anymore.  So what does Obama do?  He infuses the program with $8.3 billion to tide the program over until after the election.  This guy is despicable.  #WECANTWAIT

UPDATE:  GAO Calls on Obama To Cancel Medicare Bonuses  ”In a blow to the Obama administration on Medicare, government auditors Monday called for the cancellation of a costly bonus program for private health plans that congressional Republicans have criticized as a wasteful political ploy…The bonuses are the costliest demonstration program in Medicare history. They’ll be paid from the Medicare trust fund.”

2024 and 2033 aren’t that far off.  Medicare, Social Security Funds Going, Going, Gone  ”…the trustees from both programs have come out with new numbers, and the state of Social Security and Medicare is even worse than previously reported.”

I mean State of the Union speech tonight?  I haven’t decided – I may go bang my head against a wall instead.  At least I know the pain will end in the foreseeable future.  And I won’t have to listen to more of the same old shabai from Barry.  Let’s see…..he’ll say “fair share” about 50 times and blame the Republicans for all the country’s woes.  He’ll claim that Congress is “do-nothing.”  Really, Barry?  Watch this to see who is “do-nothing”:

Some inconvenient truths:  In the last 1,000 days since the Senate passed a budget, the federal government has spent $9.4 trillion, added $4.1 trillion in debt, and left America with a total public debt of more than $15 trillion.   Oh yeah – all these little things were accomplished in 1000 days or less.

HDR 159: Obama IS The Food Stamp President!

ALOHA, ALL!  So here’s something that grew during 0bama’s tenure:  THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM.  Under Barry, the number of food stamp recipients has risen 39%.  The number is about 61% higher than it was four years ago.  And about 67% of the USDA’s budget is spent on the food stamp program.  Ah, but those nasty Republicans want to do this:  The Republicans’ 2012 budget plan proposes changing SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) from an entitlement to a block-grant program that would be tailored for each individual state, much like their proposal for Medicaid. States would no longer receive open-ended subsidies and the aid would be contingent on work or job training. It would also limit funding for the program.  Wanna bet that the Dems use this as another weapon in their class warfare approach?  So along with ads showing granny thrown over a cliff, we’ll see ads with a Paul Ryan look-alike taking food out of a kid’s mouth.  They are shameless, after all. Congress Mulls Cuts to Food Stamps Program Amid Record Number of Recipients – The Note  Oh yeah – you might recall that Newt Gingrich was accused of being racist when he referred to Barry as “The Food Stamp President” recently. Well….looks like Newt was right about this one.

ALOHA, ALL!  Four 0bama czars were supposed to be eliminated in the continuing resolution budget deal that was struck last week.  0bama agreed to get rid of  the czar positions overseeing health care, climate change, the auto industry and urban affairs.  After all, we already have governmental departments overseeing these areas, so czars were superfluous, right?  Barry changed his mind. An amazing woman & patriot!  I met Kimberly Fletcher at the Honolulu Tea Party on Friday.  She was one of the speakers at the event – what a dynamite presenter!  Kimberly started the site Homemakers for America and has written the book, “Women: America’s Last Best Hope.”  Finally – a women’s group that speaks for ME!!!  We’re so glad to have her here in Hawaii, even if it’s for a short time.  She’s a true inspiration – check out her site!  BTW, I found out she’s from Dayton, OH and a fellow Buckeye.  :-)

Yesterday’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election is too close to call.  With 99% of precincts reporting, the results are incumbent (conservative) David Prosser at 733,074 votes and union-thug-darling Joanne Kloppenburg at 732, 489 votes….that’s a difference of 585 votes, folks!  Frankly, considering all the big union money and smear campaign waged to defeat Prosser, the fact that Kloppenburg didn’t run away with this one shows the tipping point has indeed occurred.  Wisconsin is the birthplace of collective bargaining….if union power isn’t king there, that bodes well for the rest of the country.  Slim lead for Prosser in statewide race
