So Far, So Bad
1. Benghazi was a direct effort to change the facts surrounding an attack by al Qaeda, making it look as an anti-American demonstration caused by a U-TUBE assembled by an Egyptian American. An attack that MAY have caught administration by surprise, but whose cover-up may have begun before the attack ended. The coverup of these facts continued for weeks, allowing the crime scene in Benghazi to go stale and the leaders to escape unmolested despite heavy losses. Of the four American lives lost, parents and loved ones attending their funeral were variously but directly lied to by Obama, Hillary, and VP Biden regarding the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
2. The IRS scandal is still developing (but widening by the hour). It appears to be a widely coordinated effort by or through the IRS to delay or intimidate groups (and now individuals) that advocated policies in opposition to present federal government initiatives. Evidence is now also emerging that the IRS may only have been just one agency targeting political opponents. Other agencies abusing their powers may have included: The Department of Agriculture, EPA, FCC, SEC, and others. If true, it would be the most widespread abuse of an administration and political party directed at another in history and far more chilling than previous instances (like Watergate) because of its breadth and scope and the possible willingness of federal bureaucrats to execute.
3. The AP scandal is sill developing. It involves the use of a secret subpoena by the Department of Justice used to record activity (calls made and received) of over 200 reporters. Attorney General Holder, a man of low repute and fixer of the Clinton pardon of fugitive Marc Rich, has recused himself from the investigation.

Seven Hundred Retired Military Special Ops Tell Congress to Form Select Committee on Benghazi
Seven hundred retired Military Special Operations professionals from the organization “Special Operations Speaks” sent a letter to the House of Representatives urging members to support H.Res 36, which will create a House Select Committee to investigate last September’s deadly terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.
“It appears that many of the facts and details surrounding the terrorist attack which resulted in four American deaths and an undetermined number of American casualties have not yet been ascertained by previous hearings and inquiries,” the letter states. It continues further, ”Additional information is now slowly surfacing in the media, which makes a comprehensive bipartisan inquiry an imperative. Many questions have not been answered thus far.” The letter puts forth over twenty unanswered questions the select committee should address.
Congressman Frank Wolf, a sub-committee chairman on the House Appropriations Committee, issued a resolution for a House Select Committee to investigate issues surrounding the Benghazi Attack last November in the 112th Congress. He re-issued his resolution for the select committee when the 113th Congress began. The resolution currently has over 60 co–sponsors.
Only Speaker John Boehner (R–OH) can appoint a Select Committee and Boehner appears to mainly rely on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence to investigate the Benghazi attack. However, any information that may be garnered from that committee will, as always, remain classified.
“As a retired Special Operations officer who spent most of my thirty-six years preparing for and executing rescue missions to save fellow Americans, I am deeply troubled by the events in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. The men and women who I served with lived by an ethos that pledged to never leave a fallen comrade and to make every effort to respond when a fellow American was threatened. I have seen men take great risks to save a fellow warrior. I have even seen men die trying to do so,” wrote General William G. ‘Jerry’ Boykin in a statement to Breitbart News.
Boykin added, “The lack of accountability regarding the Benghazi event disturbs me greatly and bears the earmarks of a cover up. America is entitled to a full accounting of this egregious attack on our people with some explanation as to why there was no effort to save the Americans in the US Embassy annex and the CIA station, or at least to recover their bodies before they fell into Libyan hands. Our Congress has yet to fulfill its responsibility to provide a complete analysis of the attack or to provide answers as to what exactly happened. A bi-partisan Special Committee is needed to determine the truth about Benghazi.”
Last month, Rep. Wolf, along with Reps. Jim Gerlach (R–PA), a House and Ways committee member, sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry demanding to know more information on State Department employees who survived the Benghazi attack. In his letter to Kerry, Wolf noted that sources say that as many as 30 survivors of the Benghazi attack were allegedly wounded. Seven of those thirty were said to be critical injuries. Sec. Kerry confirmed he visited an injured Benghazi survivor at Walter Reed.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R – CA), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, pointed to Kerry’s admission as a reason why he expects to speak with Benghazi survivors. “Now that Secretary Kerry has publicly, essentially a Senator, in a post way, has chosen to visit with them, any claim that they’re not available at this point to Congress is unsupportable. And I look forward to oversight by all committees,” Issa told Breitbart News.
Since Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R – UT) first told Breitbart News in December that the Obama administration had not been allowing him or any other member of Congress to see Benghazi survivors, more Republican members, including Senators Lindsey Graham (R – S.C.) and John McCain (R – AZ) are calling for survivors to be allowed to testify at hearings on Capitol Hill without fear of legal or career repercussions.
Signers of the letter believe the House Select Committee should look into a number of issues, including the lack of military response to the events in Benghazi, if any non-military assistance was provided during the attack; the number U.S. personnel who were injured in Benghazi; the current locations of survivors; the names of the individuals in the White House Situation Room (WHSR) during the entire 8-hour period of the attacks and was a senior US military officer present.
“As veterans from all aspects of Special Operations, we have no doubt that there’s a lot more to what happened in Benghazi than President Obama and his Administration are letting on. From the very beginning, he has attempted to mislead and outright lied to the American people about why the attack on September 11th, 2012 happened, how it happened, and what our government did or did not do to save the lives of our patriots abroad,” former Navy SEAL Captain Larry Bailey wrote in a statement to Breitbart News.
The representatives from the retired military community want “a full accounting of the events of September 11, 2012,” adding that the, ”American public be fully informed regarding this egregious terrorist attack on US diplomatic personnel and facilities. We owe that truth to the American people and the families of the fallen.”

Hump Day Report: The End of the World….*
ALOHA, ALL! All this talk about how the world was supposed to end today. Now everyone is saying “NOT!” But not so fast…our world is ending, maybe not in the physical sense but in the moral and philosophical sense. How did the Mayans know the US would elect a president (twice) hell-bent on “fundamentally transforming” our nation? How did they predict that he would succeed? Fiscal cliff, decimated military, class warfare, lack of transparency. Lies. Lies. Lies. All these are the hallmarks of Obama’s presidency. So even though the world is still turning, our world in the United States of America is turned upside-down. And Americans feel fine. Welcome to the new normal. (P.S. As I write this, just heard Dear Leader is speaking in about 30 minutes. He’s SO awesome!!!)

The Senator’s $23.8 billion measure would strip out $13 billion in funding to mitigate the next potential storm, and also strikes all but $2 billion of an outrageous $17 billion Community Development Block Grant slush fund.”

Hump Day Report: What Happens In Ohio…
ALOHA, ALL!! There’s a big issue on Ohio’s ballot next Tuesday. Voters will decide if they want to keep Governor John Kasich’s sweeping reforms on big labor or if they want to continue to be shackled by unions. And the unions have spent millions to defeat Senate Bill 5 by using emotional pleas from EMTs, firefighters, cops and grandmas. Yep. One commercial (paid for by We Are Ohio – a union front group) has a tearful grandma wondering if her little granddaughter would be saved from a fire if SB 5 stands. Proponents of SB 5 shot back, using grandma’s words in an ad of their own. Of course, that ad was called “illegal” by the union supporters. Funny thing – they don’t like it when their own Alinsky tactics are used against them:
Some facts are in order:
- SB 5 does NOT repeal collective bargaining by state workers. They can still bargain for wages and hours, but some of the terms and conditions of their employment will be more strictly defined. In other words, expensive perks and fringe benefits – payed for by taxpayers – will be more delineated.
- SB 5 does NOT cut salaries and benefits for state workers. It merely asks them to pay a modest share towards their healthcare costs (15%) and pension plans (10%.)
- SB 5 does NOT cut teacher pay. It simply puts into place a merit-based system for pay raises instead of automatically giving raises based on longevity. In fact, President Obama included performance as a basis for teacher salary increases in his 2009 education policy.
- “We Are Ohio” is a union-organized group that is using Ohioans’ own tax dollars for their multi-million dollar ad campaign against SB 5.
- SB 5 won’t cause little girls to die in fires.
The union-backed emotional campaign against SB 5 is working. 57% of Ohio voters support repealing it. But if SB 5 is repealed, odds are there WILL be layoffs of workers, like EMTs and firemen, because the state is going broke paying for their pensions & perks. That means fewer firefighters to save little girls. So if you have friends or relatives in Ohio, tell them to vote “yes” on Issue 2….to keep SB 5. Because what happens in Ohio – good or bad – is a bellwether for the rest of the country.

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R–OH), recently sent a clear message to the congressional “super committee” charged with producing additional debt reduction plans: The defense budget has already coughed up enough.”
But watch out for those grandmas in wheelchairs! Officials From Terror-Sponsoring State ‘Exempted From Enhanced Screening’ by TSA ”…Sudan, upset that its citizens traveling to the United States would be subjected to increased scrutiny–as were those from 13 other countries–threatened to subject U.S. passengers traveling to Sudan to the same stepped-up body pat-downs, bag checks and other security measures.” Which begs the question: how many Americans go to Sudan????? And another thought: if you go to Sudan, I would think airport screening would be the least of your concerns.

ALOHA, ALL! So the measure to raise the debt ceiling failed in the House yesterday. This is just the beginning of a long battle between those who want to cut spending and those who want to spend us into oblivion. Meanwhile, Dear Leader Barry continues to meet behind the scenes with leaders of both parties. Our illustrious Treasury Secretary, Tim “TurboTax” Geithner direly predicts that if the debt ceiling isn’t raised by August 2, our government will default, a depression will result, and chaos will ensue. Really? It seems to me it would enable us to prioritize what we really need to spend money on and maybe even get rid of non-essential, frivolous waste. Frankly, I don’t see any other way we will rein in this out-of-control monster government. Get real, DC….the American people are demanding you be serious with OUR money! ALOHA, ALL!! You wouldn’t believe the anger flowing on John Boehner’s Facebook page. And it’s not from the left, it’s from supposed Tea Party folks! They really wanted the government to shut down (and I agreed last week.) But now that the dust has settled, it’s clear that Boehner accomplished some remarkable things in this whole budget broohaha. Here are a few of those accomplishments, related specifically to 0bamacare (From Independent Women’s Voice ):
GUARANTEES SENATE VOTE ON REPEAL OF OBAMACARE. The agreement reached with Senate Democrats guarantees a Senate debate and vote on legislation that would repeal President Obama’s government takeover of health care in its entirety. The House passed such legislation in January as part of the Pledge to America.
NEW TOOLS IN THE FIGHT TO REPEAL OBAMACARE. The agreement will generate new tools for the fight to repeal Obamacare by requiring numerous studies that will force the Obama Administration to reveal the true impact of the law’s mandates, including a study of how individuals and families will see increased premiums as a result of certain Obamacare mandates; a full audit of all the waivers that the Obama Administration has given to firms and organizations – including unions – who can’t meet the new annual coverage limits; a full audit of what’s happening with the comparative effectiveness research funding that was in Obamacare and the president’s failed “stimulus” spending bill; and a report on all of the contractors who have been hired to implement the law and the costs to taxpayers of such contracts.
DENIES ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO THE IRS. The Obama administration has sought increased federal funding for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – money that could be used to hire additional agents to enforce the administration’s agenda on a variety of issues. This increased funding is denied in the agreement.

ALOHA, ALL! “If you want you can roll with us, but you gotta be in the back seat.” Those were Barack 0bama’s words during his primetime, all-Barack, you-need-to-join-us-or-you’re-not-cool rally at Ohio State Sunday. Wow – didn’t he say he was going to be the “Post-Partisan President”? The rally was an over-the-top promo of 0bama the campaigner in so many ways: a big banner with his website (not the Ohio Democrat party or any Ohio candidate) was displayed behind him. The current Governor, Ted Strickland, who is running for his life (against John Kasich) did not appear with 0bama on stage. There were lots of astroturf “Move America Forward” signs that the stupid college kids held up and waved enthusiastically. Gee…It actually seemed like an 0bama campaign rally instead of one meant to get out the vote for Democrat candidates. Imagine that! Most of all, unless you were a member of the 0bama robot corps, you would have been struck by how divisive 0bama’s words were. Did he know he was being recorded? I was amazed at how far he’s pushing that envelope, but not surprised. So since he likes to use the “car in the ditch” and “you can’t have the keys back” analogies a lot, how about this, Barry: if you’re relegating us to the back seat, we’re going to kick your seat back, throw stuff at the back of your head, and scream in your ears. And in a couple of weeks, even though you’ll still be in the driver’s seat your car will be out of gas. And you’ll need to rely on us to help push your funny car forward. But in the direction WE want to go.

But there’s more: Media Matters, the liberal activist group that wages a rhetorical war against Fox News Channel and others in the conservative press, announced on Wednesday the receipt of a $1 million donation from Soros. The organization says it plans to use the money to intensify its efforts to hold the Fox host Glenn Beck and others on the cable news channel accountable for their reporting. Soros is going after Beck and any other media outlets that don’t report the way his wicked little mind thinks they should. Workin’ In A Coal Mine? Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) raised eyebrows last month when he called Delaware Senatorial candidate Chris Coons his “pet.” Now Reid is employing another odd analogy: President Obama is like a Chilean miner. During a Saturday rally in Las Vegas, MSNBC reports, Majority Leader Reid said that when Obama replaced George W. Bush as president he found himself in a “hole so deep that he couldn’t see the outside world.” “It was like the Chilean miners,” Reid said, “but he, being the man he is, rolled up his sleeves and said ‘I am going to get us out of this hole.” LOL – get us out of the hole? Seems to me he keeps digging it deeper. And if 0bama had been Chilean President during the mining disaster….
0bama Has Put Us More In Debt, But It’s Still Bush’s Fault. Official numbers came out on Tuesday: since 0bama took office, the national debt has risen $3 trillion. At his inauguration, the debt was $10.6 trillion. It’s now $13.6 trillion. Nice work, 0bama. By 2012, projections are that 0bama will increase the debt by nearly $6 trillion. Here’s some perspective – It took from 1776, when the United States became an independent country, until 1990, the year after the Berlin Wall fell signaling victory in the Cold War, for the federal government to accumulate a total of $3 trillion in debt, according to the Treasury Department. It only took from Jan. 20, 2009, the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated, until Oct. 15, 2010, for the Obama administration to add $3 trillion to the federal debt. So to answer Sasha’s question about her father’s driving skills: no, he can’t drive and you’re probably better at figuring out that you can’t spend more than you have.
