ALOHA, ALL!! Never heard of Agenda 21? Why am I not surprised. Alert HDR reader George gave me a heads-up about this Soros plan to be implemented by the U.N. (yep…whenever I hear either of those names red flags fly!) Agenda 21 is defined by the United Nations as a “comprehensive plan for action to be taken globally, nationally, and locally by organizations of the United Nations system, governments and major groups in every area in which humans impact the environment.” Apparently Glen Beck devoted a show to this recently (I’m on the road again and missed it.) Beck sarcastically observed that the scheme “doesn’t get spooky until Section 1” when it outlines a plan for social and economic dimensions, i.e. social justice, which focuses on the redistribution of wealth (socialism), changing consumption patterns, changed population, and sustainable settling. Be alert and aware, HDR readers! Under the guise of environmentalism and social justice, our freedom is being taken away. Is this the type of healthcare system we want? I went to a rally today, and it had nothing to do with 0bamaCare (more on that later.) The state of Hawaii is actually thinking of raising it’s General Excise Tax (GET) by 1%. For you mainlanders, this is not a sales tax….it’s an additional 4% tax (4.5% on Oahu for our proposed rail system….another story) that taxes goods and services at every level, including food and medical care. We’ve had it since the 1930s. The big unions here want the tax increased so they can keep their cushy jobs and entitlements. HELLO….what planet are they from? Have they not seen what’s happening with the economy lately? So I went to the Capitol and waved signs with fellow anti-taxers and met with some of the lawmakers. Truth And Consequences. Former House Speaker Tom Delay expressed how the passage of the bill was “sickening” and “you saw the Constitution burned by the Democrats.” He smacked Geraldo Rivera back to earth after gloating that DeLay was probably in “mourning.” (Note to self: the term “useful idiot” fits Geraldo perfectly!) And future Speaker of the House John Boehner gave a great speech before the Democrats marched off the cliff: Hell No!
Who Knew Healthcare Had Anything To Do With Student Loans? Knowing that they couldn’t pass the student aid package because they no longer have a supermajority in the Senate, the Dems tacked a huge government takeover of student loans onto the healthcare bill. Are we having fun yet? Do we not see how this administration will stop at nothing to increase the size of government and control as much of our lives as possible?
A High Speed Train, A Low Speed Arrival. Part of the stimulus money went to Florida to develop a high speed train between Orlando and Tampa. This was to be the centerpiece of 0bama’s plan to tout high speed rail travel around the country. It’s fast, alright…about 168 mph. But because it makes 5 stops it only takes about 30 minutes off the trip – a trip that takes 90 minutes to drive. Can She Really Be That Stupid? Yes, I pick on Nancy Pelosi a lot. But she deserves it. In an interview with Diane Sawyer, she said “you want bipartisanship, but you cannot let the lack of bipartisanship stand in the way of making this change that is important to the American people.” Pelosi Defends Healthcare Tactics Maybe she needs to start reading the polls – her approval rating is at 11%. Of course, she’s still ahead of Harry Reid whose approval rating is now at 8%. Way to go, you’re both delusional!

Period. My friend Jackie asked me if this was really true, so I asked an attorney today…she said that’s all she was telling them, too! Dan has never held political office but believes in fiscal conservatism, energy independence, and strong national defense. He’s a physician and pro-life. As for healthcare, he believes the system needs fine-tuning but not the monstrous government takeover just passed by Congress. And there’s another person vying for Stupak’s seat: Linda Goldthorpe Linda is an attorney who would like to see the federal government keep it’s hands off state affairs, restrain itself to Constitutionally mandated issues, and cease taking personal property through taxation and excessive regulation.
Ilario Pantano is a Marine vet running for Congress in North Carolina. Talk about life experiences…..he’s an author, former Wall Street trader, and former Deputy Sheriff. While serving his country in combat in Fallujah, he killed two insurgents. Wrongly accused of murder, a military hearing dismissed all charges against him. More Light Reading – The Reconciliation Bill Was released Monday and it’s 2309 pages long. What is this bill? Trickery As Tactic. Remember how Pelosi said a few weeks ago that “We will go through the gate. If the gate is closed, we will go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we will vault in. If that doesn’t work, we will parachute in. But we are going to get health care reform passed.” Enter the “Slaughter Solution” There’s also the Deem and Pass (aka “Demon Pass”) that Nancy Nitwit is promoting now. She says she wants to “kick through this door” so that more reform will follow. As I’ve said before, she has really lost it…she is mentally unstable! And if this healthcare bill is such a good thing for America, why do they have to use all these underhanded tactics to get it passed? Just saying.
Hypocrisy As Tactic. Eric Massa is a clown. It turns out he has a long history of “tickle fights” with male staffers. It also turns out that Madame Speaker knew about such shenanigans last October, yet did nothing about it: Pelosi Knew Barney Franks’ chief of staff knew also (Barney was likely cool with it.) This Week’s Rising Star Is….TWO people! It’s great that so many incredible people are running – makes it difficult to pick just one! First, Tim Burns. Tim is a businessman who never thought he would run for office. He states he is NOT a politician…he’s a regular guy running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 12th district. His motivation is to ensure a bright future for his two sons and he’s especially concerned about the financial situation of our country. He says, “Please join me in this fight to take back our country and ensure all our children inherit a strong America, not a bankrupt one.” A strong fiscal conservative, Tim is pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, supports strong national defense, and energy independence. Sounds like he truly is a real, grounded person and not a political hack!
This week’s second Rising Star is Christine O’Donnell Christine is running for the Senate seat formerly held by “Say it Ain’t So” Joe Biden. She is adamant about bringing the “national anti-Washington insurgency” to Delaware. ”I’m running because our nation’s founding principles of individual liberty and free enterprise are no longer viewed by our leaders as indispensable.” You may have seen Christine on TV as a political commentator where she has duked it out with the likes of Chris Matthews and Bill Maher. One of six children, she says she was “raised by parents who taught me that while life can be hard, hard work will also make life better. WOW – the true Anti-Biden!

Liberals are going nuts over this, knowing that what happens with Texas textbooks translates to textbook contents throughout the country. IMHO, for too long textbooks have been “Wikipedia-ized”….written in ways that either change history or eliminate certain aspects that highlight conservative principles. (Note: this is the liberal press at work – remember how the Tea Parties got practically zero coverage in Time and Newsweek?) So if the pendulum swings more right this time, so be it. The people screamed the message, “we’ve had enough” of the nonsense and the spending – most of all enough of the back room deals and opaque process surrounding healthcare reform. In fact, we wanted healthcare reform GONE! So what does 0bama do? He decides to open up a new dialogue on healthcare. He wants to “come back and have a large meeting, Republicans and Democrats…” This large meeting is supposed to happen on February 25 and will take 6 hours…in front of cameras. Is this really a bi-partisan outreach or more smoke and mirrors from 0bama? Sorry if I’m a bit cynical. Those hateful Fox News people….they don’t get tingles down their legs!! Enough, already – grow up. The American people don’t want to hear a whining hypocrite every time 0bama goes on the airwaves. This has got to be very old for TOTUS, too (that’s Teleprompter of the United States.) But the kvetching is even more troubling when it’s coupled with duplicity, and that’s what we’re seeing with 0bama now. Last week, I wrote about how David Plouffe is back advising 0bama, and it shows big-time. Since the State of the Union speech, 0bama is on the offensive against the Republicans. Forget the supposed outreach to the GOP when meeting with them in Baltimore last week – smoke and mirrors. Check out 0bama’s response when questioned by Rep Jeb Hensarling about his new budget: Spending America Into Oblivion In that same article, note how 0bama’s budget will double the national debt to $11.5 trillion in 2012 and triple it to $18.6 trillion by 2020. 0bama will run up more debt over 8 years than all other Presidents – combined! Yet he has the nerve to talk about a so-called spending freeze. And guess what union they belong to (hint: it starts with an “S,” has an “EIU” in it and its boss has been the most frequent visitor to the White House since 0bama took office.) So Michelle 0bama decides to make childhood obesity her crusade…which happens to promote better nutrition in schools…which happens to make funding the Child Nutrition Act sound like a good idea…which gives more money to food service workers in schools. Scott Brown Is Finally Being Seated. The Dems were trying to hold this off as long as possible. February 11 was supposed to be the date Brown is sworn in, but guess what? He challenged this and will now be seated a week early – February 4. Thank goodness – in the meantime Kirk has still been voting (even though the people spoke loudly and clearly) and some far-reaching legislation has passed as a result: Why Is Kirk Still Voting?

Looks like by the time November comes around, Scott Brown won’t be alone as a new, forward-thinking legislator – Time recently had an article that listed “Ten More Scott Browns.” I’d like to add an eleventh, and that’s Charles Djou of Hawaii. He’s a conservative Republican running in a special Congressional election to replace Neil Abercrombie (Commie Neil has decided to run for Governor – joy.) Djou offers sanity in a state that truly needs some! Yes, it’s paradise but even this paradise isn’t perfect. Does he have a chance? The Dems are already attacking him, so that would be a resounding YES! DCCC Hitting Djou Early Djou is getting lots of national attention and was the topic of a recent National Review Online article. And here’s the best part…Djou is running in the Congressional district that includes 0bama’s childhood stomping grounds! So keep your eyes on this one, folks, and GO CHARLES!!!
Speaking of Paradise….The GOP was here last week for its Winter meeting. They got some heat (no pun intended) for traveling to this far-off, exotic land. Guess what, short-sighted critics? Hawaii is part of the United States! Frankly, I want to thank the GOP for bringing its delegates and dollars to our state. I understand Michael Steele took the brunt of the criticism, so mahalo, Bro! Fun In The Sun For The GOP In Hawaii I attended a one day seminar that was outstanding, and heard Steele speak and met many other talented GOPers.
And while the Dems were criticizing the GOP for going to Hawaii, guess what they did? They had a lovefest with lobbyists in swanky South Beach.
